About Me

My photo
A First Nation artist from Gitxsan tribe. Born a life some consider hard life, to me its the way of living. Hard of hearing, but despite it, I've always enjoyed music whether it be in Clubs, concerts, festivals, and DJ circuit. On the other side of coin, I played soccer all my life, and that skill took me to places like Venezuela for a short stint, a memory I'll keep to heart! Through highschool, I learned the passion of Film making/editing/and Script writing. Things lifted up after I graduated and attended Vancouver Film School after my return from Venezuela. It was in Film School, one weekend on the outs, checking out clubs. I found my liking to electro music, and took the time to Mixs some songs and see how things go! You can find some of my mixs @ "MUSIC" under ::::DEEK's BLOG:::: Although this blog isn't entirely about the music I follow, nor the DJ set I like to make. It's about the one mystery, LIFE! Things changes over time. My favorite author quoted; "When all's said and done, all roads lead to the same end. So it's not so much which road you take, as how you take it." -Charles De Lint-

The first page of existence...

The first page of my existence...
....begins here....but it could start any where else in my mind. Right now it's absent minded, as I'm listening to an Instant Classic Vocal mix by a Canadian (house/tech trance) Producer/DJ:

"I Remember" - DEADMAU5
Feeling the past moving in
letting a new day begin
hold to the time that you know
you don't have to move on to let go

Add to the memory you keep
remember when you fall asleep
hold to the love that you know
you don't have to give up to let go

Remember turning on the night
and moving through the morning light
remember how it was with you
remember how you pulled me through

I remember [x8]

I never really followed House music or Tech-trance. It always been Hardstyle, Hard Dance, Psy-trance, and progreessive trance. But lately I've been eager to try something new. I heard this hype for weeks about DEADMAU5 coming to Van to Perform a free show for the 2010 Winter Olympic, Vancouver.
It was Friday, and I had Rendered a ride from my parents, where I'm currently residing and went down to Vancouver for the weekend with my Parents. Journeyed went all the way out to Vancouver just to appreciate a "Free Show" performing by our very own. DEADMAU5. I wanted to see why he was becoming one of the world greats of Electro Music Scene. Named #2 DJ, underneath #1 Tiesto (but that's commercial).

Once I got here, the transit was overwhelming so I decided to walk en-route across the city from Granville busy entertainment district to Gas town area. Nearby the Cambie Street. Soo many color of Red was adorn across proud Canadians. I'm proud to be the ORIGINAL "Canadian", and know to live up to my people. Being Aboriginal of this land. I wish I could scream that but I didn't want to rain on their "Canadian Fiesta".

I traveled across this city beaming in multi-cultural pride of Olympic Competition, I then find myself in this Vancouver Famous Land site; The New Amsterdam Cafe. Sited next to Marc Emery's Headquarter. A cafe where stoners gather to have coffee, snacks, and roll up their own joint openly and smoke up like we're in Amsterdam. I run into this guy I knew from before at that Cafe and we decided to roll up a couple good joints, then take off to the bar to pick up some a mickey of whiskey! Some Candian Club... then we're on our way to.............

DEADMAU5. However, we find that due to security matter they choose to have their "Free Show" fenced off to extra party crashers like me. The place was "overcrowded". Obvious to the fact the event organizer never been to a rave before. We could always fit extra in but then again who knows.....THIS IS THE OLYMPIC EVENT...?!?!?!?!

There was this hype of Deadmau5 performance that was garnered to be massive headline of the Night. As you could Imagine from the News on television of how Popular the night the night was during the Vancouver Winter Olympic. It seemed like New Year Event EVERYNIGHT. I was disappointed to find out I won't be getting in to see what I came down for. Instead, I wandered around town, ran into a lot of good people.

SONG PLAYING AT THE MOMENT: "Crazy (Kutski & Al Storm Mix)" by BK

After the long night wandering I decided to do what I was supposed to do after the LIVECITY: DEADMAU5 performance finish at 11pm, was to meet a friend of mine A.M, at the Club 23 West. A psychedellic Trance Club. I used to go to this place on weekly basis. This is how I met A.M. A nice girl who's name I will not reveal.

I met A.M. quite some time ago, almost a year ago, when I was attending Vancouver Film School while I was living in the West End downtown, by the beach. It was sometime in fall or winter. I decided to head out to Club 23 West, Organix. Where a high school friend of mine, DJ Lucky performed. Organix is only held once a week at Club 23 West, where they performed Psychedelic Trance, full-on, Progressive, and Goa. After a long week, working at Vancouver Film School projects, or being out all the time, I'd like to start my weekend at a full-on dance club. Just wind up, and being taken away by music.

It was like every once every 1 or 2 weeks, I'd see A.M. I knew she had a boyfriend at the time. I'll remember the one night where I was dancing my mind off in a Trance state, probably high off my mind (either E or marijuana. Keep in mind now that I'm clean from Ectasy). I had a moment when I opened my eyes, I noticed across the floor from me in clear view. She looked back at me as her boyfriend dances around her. I kept my eyes on her, as the colorful lights danced all around me. and the music taking my focus, making it feel......connected. I think somewhere along that moment, she told her boyfriend she wanted bottle of water. As he head up to the Bar, I sneaked across the floor making my way to this special person who's presence graced the night. Right in front of me, there she was. I had only a moment so I took the liberty of truths. I bluntly whispered in her ear, "I think I'm falling for you!" And with that I backed away from her, keeping our eyes locked. I knew she felt same way too....but the saddest thing is.....Nothing did happen. This is what could be a Potential and it broke away from the actual connection! I thought there was something to come out of this like something more....

I know it took a lot of courage for me to do this....Truthfully, I never walked up to a girl I knew for awhile and had secret crush, and then admit it to that very person! I never did this before. I laid it out flat, and waited for something to happen. But it never did.

And now here I am again, away from Vancouver where magic can happen anytime! I just wish to move back again.....I miss my friends, I miss my freedom, but things will have to do until I figure out what's my next game plan is.....Go to School? Work?....I'm not too sure because right now I'm a Free-spirited guy, always wanting to work on art, music, writing, and being out with friends.

2010 Summer is coming around the corner! Time to discover......

Machination of Writing

Downhill battle against the art of machination for my script....

Always was, on top of my mind. Mind you, but I could never lay down the characters, the locations, the idea. It goes on about how I learned in a few classes that we can come across the a writer's block! I think I remember what I learned at Vancouver Film School....I think they said count backwards....let's try that!

INITIATE

Backward countdown:
10...
9....
8...think behind the context..
7....
6...think sub-plot
5...
4...
3...think character's arc
2.....
??????.....
?????????....
F@*K TH!S??????????

NO IDEAS FORMULATING!

Kind of infuriating for someone like me who likes to write and write for ages to come, but that ages to come has never did come!....

but this isn't the case, I got the basic ideas down, but to put them little puzzles together will take me a few months. The story is much on worldwide scale, take place in heart of human who's search of being worthy, honor, or respect. The story goes....

"Gød ¡∫..."

In Shorts:
by DEEK
A short-film narrative; a story of four lives interweaves through philanthropic actby searching for dignity.

The characters are a world apart. Much different lifestyles, but bounded together somewhere along the line.

I wouldn't want to give away the whole
idea by explaining the characters.

CREATING IS..
Today, I start progressing....the life...
given, you create it,
multilayer the meaning and where we come from.
If you find balance between the character
and the world they live in,
no matter the indifference, and there's no width or depth between,....
AND THAT BECOME A STORY
